In his lifetime this amazing man developed over 800 plant varieties of flowers, vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains and grasses. His legacy is a living tribute to nature and what man can bring forth working in harmony with it. From the humble Burbank potato to the beautiful Shasta Daisy, Luther had his hands in nearly every aspect of horticulture. His vision for plant improvements and creations were seen as 'other worldly' by the people who followed him over decades of creative accomplishments and vegetative manifestations. He was known as the 'Plant Wizard' and is still considered a horticultural master. Here we see a sketch of this great man that radiates with the light that he carried throughout his life. He understood, and talked with nature. I felt he deserved to be honored today, just as he was when alive. Ah to be able to walk with him for only one day, and listen to what he had to say about his work.
