Mom & fawn oil
Here is a recent oil painting of a digital piece I did years ago honoring the 'paint-by-number' craze that once swept the USA. I got to looking at the digital version and decided I wanted to do an oil version using slightly different colors. The basic scene is similar but the bottom reflections in the water came out rather abstract. This abstraction was not originally intended but, once notice, I enhanced it to add a visual or optical play between shapes and what the brain expects to see in a reflection. It's fun to look at.

Thanks for your comment. I'm not a social media person but I wanted to say something about my intent with this piece of art. I took another piece I painted, with the same subject, and tried to stretch what could be considered the paint-by-number look using it. I wanted to push a vector shape looking picture into an almost abstract looking piece. I probably could go even further in this direction but I'm doing my cartoon strip, Hobo Robo, and that is taking my full attention currently. Keep in touch.
